It really has been one hell of a year at THE CHAPEL. 2011 saw THE CHAPEL celebrate a lot of wins, its hard to think we fitted so much into 12 months! We gained so many amazing experience and a some amazing new team members throughout the year too! Here are some of our highlights!

 

January

We welcomed some new team members to THE CHAPEL Tunbridge Wells.  They have all taken to it like fish to water and I, for one, can’t believe its only been a year! I feel like they have always been part of our Chapel Family.

 Redken launched Shades Eq Creme at the start of this year and our lovely Rebecca was there to star in the launch video. Check it out here.

 

February

THE CHAPEL Creative’s Mens Shoot featured in several magazined this year, including Switz magazine Top Hair International and Hairdressers Journal.

 February also saw Gary Russell backstage at London Fashion Week. Check out all the photos on Flikr here. 

March

 THE CHAPEL Creative work behind the scenes in association with REDKENS Blow Dry Bootcamp which featured in Grazia.

April

Amanda leads an amazing talk on How to Communicate with your Customer at Salon Smart in London on the 4th of April

May

Billie Crago, director of Islington rocks at REDKEN Connects over four dates in Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin and finishing triumphantly in London. The Covent Garden venue was overflowing with hairdressers for one night only as Billie too k to the stage alongside fellow REDKEN Artists Lee Stafford, Chris Moody and Andrew Barton.  At the same event, Katie Fellowes was announced as a finalist in REDKENS Colour Genius competition.

June

 Never ones to do things “by the book”, we completed our team photos this year in spectacular fashion. All taken by in house photographer, Nick Matthews, they have been featured in several magazines. Not to mention they were great fun to take!

July

Sevenoaks opens its doors! Dawn was a familiar face in Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks is the perfect addition to our CHAPEL family. As we all know, Tunbridge Wells is in the site of an old church and Islington used to be a pub, so we heard that a possible venue in Sevenoaks used to be a schoolhouse- it just made perfect sense! August

August saw us close our doors in Tunbridge Wells for a week and re open with a brand new look. We also closed our Beauty Rooms after many years to make way for THE CHAPEL Academy, which will open in 2012.

October

Amanda Dicker was  selected to join REDKEN’s “International Mentorship Program” this year. The Program is  run at REDKEN head office 5th Avenue New York City twice during 2011. On completion, Amanda was then invited to speak at REDKEN’s European Symposium which will take place in February 2012 in Berlin.

November

THE CHAPEL and Natasha Nissan, our amazing Customer Relations Manager, beat competition from Cadburys, LOVEFiLM and Scottish Power to win a coveted (and customer nominated!) award “From OW to WOW!” for outstanding customer service. This is by far one of our proudest moments of the year. To be recognised for something we feel so passionate about is truly an honour.

 November also saw the lovely Jodie shortlisted for next years Professional Beauty Awards. Well done Jodie!

December

We finished off the year with a photoshoot with Noctis Magazine and THE CHAPEL Creative. Nick was on hand for photographs while Ian and Kelly looked after styling and Jodie took make up.

Finally, the end of the year saw the run up to Christmas. Our amazing team worked 6 days a week to make this our busiest Christmas ever and are, as you read this, relaxing on a well deserved break before we reopen on the 6th of January.

While 2011 has certainly been a year to remember and this is only a snapshot of some of the excitement that happened, let me tell you a little about what I have been up to! For the past few weeks, alongside the backstage team, I’ve been planning 2012. I can tell you now, its going to be bigger, better and more exciting then ever before.  Amanda always says “never sit still” and and at THE CHAPEL, we  always practices what we preach.
