When asked what drew Alec to The Chapel, he says “I had the same feeling walking into this salon as I did when I first went to Sassoon’s on Bond Street. That feeling of ‘This is it, This is 5 star.’ It’s much more me.”
With 44 years experience the hair industry, Alec truly is a force to be reckoned with. He has worked on editorial shoots with Elle and Vogue, is privileged to have worked with numerous celebrity guests and achieved the status of Creative Director at Vidal Sassoon.
“I was studying furniture design as a teenager and I used to get my haircut in Baker Street. I fell in love with the atmosphere, the way people dressed, it was a different ball game. Eventually, I decided that cutting hair was what I wanted to do. Someone at college told me, well if you’re going to become a hairstylist, go to Sassoons. So I did.”
Alec is a cutting specialist and he doesn’t have a favourite style so you can throw absolutely anything his way. “I think of hair in a similar way as I do carving, only your working with a fluid moveable material. I always know the shape I’m going for before I start and I know exactly what it’s going to look like when I’m finished."
"My job is to make sure that you understand and agree with my vision. My ethos is very in tune with The Chapel and I like to ensure all of my guests are always relaxed and feel at ease with me and within the Chapel walls."
