Autumn/Winter 2011 Colour Trends
Rebecca Adams, Colour Specialist in Islington and Tunbridge Wells has been keeping her ear to the ground about what’s going on for Autumn/Winter 2011. She says “The catwalks have several strong influences this season, from Forties elegance to Victoriana chic, and this is very apparent in hair colours. Colour needs to be expensive, high gloss and unique to their style. Designers such as John Galliano and Christian Dior chose tones to compliment the texture within the hair in their A/W 2011 shows. ”
Brunettes are bold and deeper with cooler tones of blackberry’s whilst reds are more rustic and mutational, embracing soft texture and movement with tones of burnt coppers. Florence Welch will be a strong influence once again this Winter.
Another inspiration for Autumn/Winter colour is Alexa Chung. The dip dying trend is going nowhere and her colour is timeless and truly elegant chic with a softer dip dyed effect then we have seen so far. We will see the dip dye effect become softer and warmer as the evenings get shorter.
