If you're in the mood to take a trip to the hair salon and change up your hairstyle, picking something you know will make you feel fabulous inside and out can be challenging. As the late, great, Joan Crawford once said "I think that the most important thing a woman can have- next to talent, of course- is a hairdresser", and with hair being the only accessory you wear permanently, having a cut that makes you feel great is important. Luckily, the oval is commonly referred to as the most versatile face shape, so you can choose from almost any hairstyle there is! However, to take some of the stress off of you, we've narrowed down the list to four cuts that will look fantastic on oval face shapes.

The Middle Part

For those that want to keep their hair long, but change up the style of their hair, a middle part might be the way to go. From Jennifer Aniston's middle part with beachy waves to a sleek straight style like Kim Kardashian-West's, the middle part is a great option for women with oval-shaped faces. Keeping it long will also work well for taller women, as the length will help to balance out your height.

The Lob

Over the past few years, the long bob (or lob) has become an extremely popular cut amongst women, with Kristen Bell and Margot Robbie both seen adopting this iconic hairstyle. From a sleek straight look to a more playful wavy style, a blunt cut lob is the ultimate cut for women wanting medium length hair that is manageable and vastly versatile, making it the happy medium of all hair cuts. As Lottie Winter from Glamour magazine mentions, 'don't waste time deliberating between keeping your long hair or getting a bob, the answer is easy: get a lob'. Look to celebrities like Mila Kunis, Emilia Clarke and Lucy Hale for inspiration.

The Pixie

The pixie cut is a classic, yet modern, short hairstyle that will add balance to your face and looks great on women of all ages. With the option to style this cut in a more androgynous way, keeping it short or slicked back, or to go with a more feminine look, keeping the fringe long or swooping it to the side, this cut is perfect for women that want something very manageable, yet chic. Look to celebrities like Katy Perry, Emma Watson and Joey King for inspiration for the cut.

The Buzzcut

Even more on-trend than the lob is the buzzcut. This edgy, yet chic style has made a dramatic entrance onto the hair scene, with Cara Delevingne and Kristen Stewart being two celebrities that have taken the plunge to go super short. Although cutting off all your hair may seem daunting, the buzz cut has been noted as an extremely freeing and liberating hairstyle, so if you're looking to make a dramatic change that's bang on-trend, the buzz cut may be the perfect new cut for you.
