For quite some time we’ve been looking into small ways we can make a difference to our sustainability and many solutions have already been put in place for both our guests and teams. After trying a multitude of these eco products we were inspired to share with you the standouts that we believe you’d enjoy too.
No need for an ad disclaimer, we haven’t been asked to review nor have any financial involvement with these companies!
Earth Breeze Laundry Sheets - What, How, Why?
In hair salons especially, you tend to have washloads of gowns and towels on throughout most of the day, so even the tiniest of efficiencies or waste reductions quickly add up across 5 salons over the year.
Most cleaning products are liquids (usually in plastic bottles) which comprise water as their main ingredient. But we all have taps at home or our washing machines provide water in their processes. So why not transport cleaning products without adding the weight of water and also therefore in cardboard packaging?
Earth Breeze’s carbon footprint is 90% lower than the average laundry detergent as well as its packaging is completely plastic-free. With only a fraction of recycling waste globally actually being recycled, we love that they’ve looked ahead by creating fully biodegradable packaging that can degrade in 3 months*.
These innovative, waterless sheets are also free from paraben, phthalate, phosphate, bleach and dye, as well as being animal cruelty-free.
Finally, Eath Breeze donates 10 washes to homeless charities with each purchase!
How Do They Compare?
We’ve honestly been very satisfied with them, and despite initial expectations that little dry strips couldn’t match the standards of traditional detergents, we haven’t noticed any compromises in the quality of our washloads.
A nice bonus is that where space is limited for lots of cleaning products we actually really like that the packaging is much smaller and easier to store than before.
We’re looking forward to sharing our other favourites with you soon but if you have any extra ideas/recommendations of your own, or feedback, please let us know by emailing phil@thechapel.co.uk who is passionately leading The Chapel’s vision of a greener future.
