It’s no secret that London is one of the most hectic and places to live and work. It is a whirlwind of activity and creativity which our London team find inspiring. Sometimes it can get a little exhausting. At The Chapel, one of our core concepts we encourage everyone to follow is finding time to PAUSE.

These are small moments of reflection which you completely devote to yourself - a time to refocus your energy to the present and on what is really important to you. Of course, in a city like London, it’s not easy to find a place to escape the constant hustle and bustle, but our fantastic stylists have got some great spots in the city which are perfect for pausing. So read on to discover our Islington teams much-loved pause locations - no matter where you are in London we’ve got you covered!

Neal’s Yard - Covent Garden

Covent Garden is one of the most tourist-heavy locations in the city. However, no one can deny it’s classic beauty. Scott from our Tunbridge Wells salon notes Neal’s Yard’s quiet bamboo-surrounded benches provide the perfect place to take it all in. What’s more, the shop itself is fantastic for soothing natural products to bring you a sense of calm at home. We’d recommend their Organic Lavender Oil to soothe the senses.

London Fields Lido - London Fields

A cooling dip in serene water calms the mind and body. Mark Palmer from our London Salon enjoys his peaceful moments at the London Fields Lido, in the outdoor pool, surrounded by atmospheric steam if it’s a colder day (and let’s be honest it’s always a bit nippy even during ‘summer’). Alternatively, you can use their lounging area to do just that during warmer days for some laid-back luxury with friends.

Peckham Levels - Peckham

With the area itself becoming one of London’s hot spots for trendy new developments, it's fair to say that Peckham is the place to be right now. Peckham Levels  is one such hotspot; a transformed unused car park that gives you endless options to truly escape, in whichever way you wish. Luke Gilbert from our London salon often visits the one-stop-shop to indulge in delicious street food, a few cheeky cocktails, and even ultra-zen yoga. Your moment of pause is yours to find and this place certainly gives you the place to discover it.

Lincoln’s Inn Fields - Covent Garden

Yet another central spot to find a moment of solace just five minutes from the busy hub of Covent Garden. Gigi from our London salon visits Lincoln’s Inn Fields cafe. This is a lovely place to unwind with a coffee by yourself or with good company. Surrounded by green space, it’s a welcome respite from the packed streets of the West End and the ultimate place to watch the world go by.

Canal Walk finishing at Victoria Park

There’s nothing like a walk in the great outdoors air to clear the mind. Oliver from our Islington salon loves the route along the canal from Camden to Victoria Park. This route is full of fabulous street art and interesting narrow boats - plenty of opportunities to stop, stare and pause in wonder. Finish up amongst Victoria Park’s lush greenery, taking time enjoy its stunning scenery with an expertly crafted flat white from one of its surrounding cafes.

Netil House 360 - Hackney

Finally is a space for those that like to look at life from a higher perspective. Netil House 360 is a personal favourite of our London Stylist Dean Mc Carthy, with a calm and cool view of London and super-laid back atmosphere. It provides a great place for busy minds to work but also find rest and relaxation if needed.

Whether it’s every day, every week or just every so often, finding the time to pause is vitally important for your mental and physical wellbeing. With the sun set to finally come out this month, it’s the perfect opportunity to do just that. We’d love to hear if you pause in any of our selected locations so please do share your stories on social and don’t forget to tag us. Alternatively, if you’d like to experience the full Chapel PAUSE experience, get in touch and we can book in to see you soon!
